Equipment size & installation notes
Box size
All LiveTalk Communicator equipment use the same enclosure - whether it’s the Com3+1, Com3+3, the support box or multiplexor. The core dimensions of the box (including external aerial) are: 22 x 15 x 6cm.
Design
The LiveTalk enclosure (box) is a simple but relatively stylish white box - with an external aerial (optional) sticking out from one side.
Importantly, the device has x6 LEDs that flash on the front, so ideally should be located out of sight e.g. in a cupboard.
Multiple device boxes
In some use-cases, customers will need x2 or x3 boxes installed. For example:
Ajax / wireless alarm installation = x2 boxes. Wireless alarms tend not to have enough onboard power to support the LiveTalk communicator, meaning we need to install an additional ‘support box’ (which houses a support battery and power supply.
Multiple speaker/mics (i.e. large systems) = x3 boxes. If you have a large property with multiple speaker/mics, then we’ll need to install x3 devices: the communicator, a support box and a ‘multiplexor’ (to connect the multiple speaker/mics to).
